The Queen Of England Invites a Nigerian For An Award!

Who says hard work doesn’t pay off? Young People across some selected commonwealth nations have been invited to an Award ceremony and Reception at Buckingham Palace by the Queen for the 2015 winners of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award. It will be taking place on Monday, 22nd June, 2015 by 6.00pm and Interestingly, One of our very own Nigerian actresses and business tycoon just got invited to receive an award from the Queen of England!

Stephanie Linus Okereke is her name! A Nigerian actress, business woman, film director, writer, producer and model. She is the CEO of Next Page Productions and Co-founder of DEL YORK International, a media and marketing communications company. Isn’t it amazing to find an actress who is actively an entrepreneur?

Stephanie attended both primary and secondary schools at Delta State, South-South Nigeria and later went to University of Calabar where she studied English and Literary Studies and graduated in 2004.

She started her acting career in 1997 with Compromise and Waterloo. Ever since, she had become a household name in the Nigerian movie industry, the Nollywood.

She has kept the ball rolling both in the area of business as well as acting and she has won lots of awards among which include:

  • The second place in The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Beauty Pageant (2002).
  • Reel awards Best Actress English and Reel award best actress of the year (2003).
  • Afro Hollywood award for Best Actress (2006).
  • In April 2009, Stephanie was honored with a Jewel Award at the 6th annual Africa Goodwill awards for her positive representation of African women through her charity work and her movie career.
  • Montage Africa Women of Excellence Awards (MAWEA) for excellence in Drama and Entertainment. (2013)

With over 90 films to her name, Stephanie Linus Okereke is continually building her brand in the movie industry as well as making waves as a business woman. A model par excellence she indeed is, as she has inspired lots of young Africans with her hard work and commitment.

She has kept the flag flying and this is a clarion call to all and sundry never to despair in whatever field they find themselves, as the journey of a thousand miles always start with a step.
